Drinkme

Review- So I sent out a call to arms to all musicians every where, a simple enough request for music in exchange for the little press I can provide, and I was astonished by the response. Only a few days after asking the first demo came all the way from the UK. I honestly didn't expect much (after all there are a lot of garage bands out there that should probably stay in the garage). My first surprise was the excellence production value, a crisp clean sound you can only get from a professional recording, or some one really practiced on a computer. My second surprise was an amazing infectious sound with the light up beat tunes of Duran Duran mixed with the anger and cynicism of the Sex Pistols.

I liked it so much I played the 4 song demo a second time, the third time I was singing along. I went so far as to show it to my girlfriend and she didn't want to give it back she then went so far as to ask where she could buy the CD. I showed it to my friend a professional DJ , DJ ALvG from the hip hop group 857 and the demo ran on his car stereo all night . He commented one how great it was to hear a different sound then the crap on the radio

I went to the Drinkme's website to learn more about the band and discovered they too hated the music on the radio. Rightly so, having to wait for the crap American music industry to pump out more garbage is bad enough, but having to wait several months later to get the same crap in Europe must be absolutely draining. So their simple mission was to reinvigorate the Brit Pop scene on the wings of a butterfly .

They currently have a video or 2 running around on Euro MTV and I hope the make the trip over here some day, they were nice enough to give me an autograph and if I ever get the chance I'd like to buy these guys and gal a beer.
